2010 Starts… Now

Posted by: redbullf1 November 4th, 2009 at 5:04 pm

The rosewater had hardly dried on the drivers’ overalls before thoughts turned to 2010.

Actually that’s a complete lie. We celebrated and congratulated each other for a good two and a half hours before duties for next season began. Those two and a half hours included a team picture taken on the edge of the Marina in which a lot of photographers and unsuspecting guests were showered in champagne and a beer or two beside the team hotel. All quite civil.

But, by Wednesday it was well and truly back to duty: Seb was taking part in day two of the Race of Champions in China and Mark and Christian were hosting a press afternoon with the media local to our UK base.

And, while the race team has been away winning the final three races of the season, the Milton Keynes team has been fully operational working to improve the car and improve our chances of winning even more races next season. It’s also a truncated closed-season as Bahrain begins the 19-race 2010 marathon campaign on March 14. Into this curious mix is the test ban until February 1. It’s going to be an interesting winter.

Not that us here on the internet team are kicking back and thinking of moving to the Caribbean for three weeks. The idea is to still bring you news from the Factory, to keep you fully loaded with information about the drivers’ activities (which will probably not include mountain bike races…) and moderate the debate we expect on the Forums. Talking points? The season is only two days cold and already we’ve had Toyota leave, Rubens confirm he’s leaving but staying in F1, a 19-season provisional calendar yet to be confirmed and a lifeline thrown to our friends at BMW.

There’s never a dull moment in Formula One, let alone a dull day, but what’s your take on it all so far?
